God comes to dwell among His people in the tabernacle, and the ark is the first thing to be built. This is the center of His presence in Israel, set up in the Holy of Holies where the commandments rest beneath the mercy seat. This is God’s footstool where righteousness and peace have kissed. While unfamiliar to us, the tabernacle and its furniture are chock-full of truth and goodness.
