Reconciliation

Preacher:
Passage: Genesis 33

From a young age Jacob was mature in his faith. Still he went through huge trials—a selfish and favoritistic father, a murderous brother, a prolonged exile, strife-filled marriages, a manipulating, dishonest and threatening father-in-law, all leading up to last night’s knock-down, drag-out wrestling match against God Himself. Jacob wins, and when he lifts up his eyes, behold, Esau is coming. Esau’s intention to murder Jacob drove him from Canaan in the first place, but now he boldly seeks to reconcile with his brother. God has shown Jacob grace, and now Jacob is showing that same grace to Esau.
