Build on the Rock
Jesus goes up on the mountain to tell the multitudes the good news. He begins by blessing those who trust Him with the kingdom, comfort, an inherited earth, satisfaction of righteousness, mercy, the sight of God, being called the sons of God, and a great reward in heaven for enduring persecution. He tells His people how be a salty influence and a shining light, how to be free from consuming anger, murder in the heart, adulterating lust, and how to speak the truth and overcome evil with good. He concludes now with a sober warning to be sure not just to listen to His words but to put them into practice. This is not just about individuals, but churches, schools, and nations that stand or fall depending on what they’re built on.
