Abraham is the father of our faith. Genesis 12 begins the story of the most famous patriarch, and it’s a story of conquering faith that runs through the rest of the Bible and ultimately to Jesus Christ, the seed of Abraham. God could have given up on humanity at Babel, but He didn’t. In the family history of Shem, Abram is the tenth generation, just as Noah was the tenth from Adam. As a new Noah, Abram puts his trust in God and lives boldly. Though his faith falters, God picks Him up, just as He does for us.
