Man is born to trouble, Job says, as the sparks fly upward. Conflicts arise constantly, and when we sinfully participate, if asked why, we will cite the other party’s sin: “They did this.” But James cuts through the fog of blame and names ungodly desires at work. Our unchecked lusts cause fights which lead to violence and murder, and only the God of grace can overcome this and restore us.
