We don’t like to think of ourselves as prosecutors making a case against the Almighty, but this is because we’re not as honest as Naomi. Elimelech didn’t trust God to provide for him and his family in Bethlehem, and that famine of faith stayed with Naomi even when food returned. Suffering is hard, but God remains faithful even when we doubt Him.
